Caramel Cream Cheese Frosting













1/4 cup brown sugar
10 T butter, divided
1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
8 oz. Whitehall Specialties 850 Imitation Cream Cheese
1 tsp vanilla extract
dash of salt
1 1/2 - 2 cups powdered sugar

Melt 2 T butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Slowly whisk in the heavy whipping cream, mixing well. Cool at room temperature, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, place remaining 8 T softened butter and Whitehall Specialties 850 Imitation Cream Cheese in a large mixing bowl. Beat with a hand mixer on high speed until smooth. Beat in vanilla and salt. With mixer running, slowly pour in the cooled brown sugar mixture and blend into an even consistency. Add the powdered sugar 1/2 cup at a time beating well after each addition until desired consistency is reached. Can be chilled for a firmer texture if desired.
